Begin your journey

How we work together

Method

Imagine your journey as a river. It has its own course, its own pace, and a landscape shaped by everything it has encountered along the way.

My role is not to decide where you should flow, but to explore that landscape with you: to understand the obstacles you are facing, recognise the resources already available to you, and develop ways of navigating what lies ahead.

A starting point: your experience

Our work begins with what brings you here. You do not need to arrive with a complete explanation or a clearly defined problem. We can begin with a difficulty, a question, a recurring feeling, or the sense that something needs attention.

Through conversation, we explore what you are experiencing, the context in which it arises, and what you would like to understand or approach differently.

Recognising recurring themes

Together, we look at the connections between your thoughts, emotions, experiences and ways of responding. We may explore situations that feel familiar, patterns in relationships, or reactions that are difficult to make sense of.

The aim is not to judge these patterns, but to understand the place they have had in your experience and consider whether they still respond to your present needs.

Conversation, imagination and awareness

Dialogue is central to my work. When appropriate and agreed together, guided relaxation, visualisation and active imagination may also accompany our conversations.

I explain any proposed exercise beforehand, and we discuss whether it feels suitable for you. You can ask questions, decline an exercise, or ask to pause at any time.

Images and impressions that emerge during these exercises can be explored as part of your present experience; they are not treated as proof of past events.

A journey we shape together

We discuss the focus, frequency and duration of our meetings according to your needs. Along the way, we make space to reflect on what feels useful, what remains difficult, and whether our focus needs to change.

There is no single pace that everyone must follow. Your questions, preferences and feedback are part of how the work takes shape.

Resources beyond our meetings

Our work also considers everyday life: how you recognise your needs, respond to emotions, and approach situations that feel challenging.

Rather than looking for a ready-made answer, we explore possibilities you can make your own. My role is to help you build the riverbanks, while you retain the space to choose your direction.
